As with many natural therapies, our remedial massage therapist will work with you to find the actual cause of your discomfort, and customize his therapy treatment to try and eliminate the root cause, not just the symptoms. He will use a series of manual muscle manipulations that may or may not be firm and forceful. Remedial massage might/can involve deep tissue massage. It may also involve passive stretching through PNF and MET techniques which aids the treatment to stimulate the body to do its own healing.
Dean our Remedial Therapist has many years of experience as a therapist and he will work with you to access and provide you with best possible treatment plans and work towards providing you with the best possible outcomes, within his skill set.

Cupping therapy is a Traditional Chinese Medical therapy that has been used as a stand-alone treatment method and an additional treatment to Acupuncture for thousands of years. Its most common application is the reduction of acute and chronic muscle pain due to muscle tension, trigger points, poor circulation, metabolic waste build-up and inflammation. While it is commonly used for pain, cupping therapy has a much wider treatment claim addressing: respiratory conditions, headaches, digestive complaints, common colds, and neuropathy. The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure). Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and even cellulite
Suction is applied to the cup and the cup will firmly suction to the skin and muscle. Our skilled Practitioner will be able to adjust the level of suction without needing to remove and reset the cup. The cups are either left static on the area for 8 – 15 minutes or are moved along the affected muscle or meridian pathway like a deep tissue massage using a technique know as “walking cups” or "dynamic cupping".
Both walking and static cups are typically used on large, hairless, muscular areas of the body. Depending on the degree of suction, both styles of cupping can penetrate muscle tissue 100mm below the surface of the skin. Walking cupping, unlike static cupping, requires a base of oil applied to the treatment area before the cups are set to ensure smooth cup gliding. Cupping Marks Despite the health benefits and how good cupping therapy feels many people are unsure of cupping because of the famous “bruises” the cups can leave. The cups can leave discolorations but they are NOT bruises.
